Polart Circle Event: 4theRegion Conference – Swansea, Wales

Marion Pollet/ April 9, 2019/ Activities, news

On 9 April 2019, the Volcano Theatre participated in the event “It’s Your Swansea – Be Part of it” organised by “4theRegion Working together” in Wales.

During this event, which gathered exhibitions and conferences about the actions carried out in the region, in Wales, in the United Kingdom and more widely in Europe, the Volcano Theatre presented the Polart Circle project to the visitors.

With an attractive stand where continuing presentations and videos were streamed, Volcano representatives were present all day long to explain the role of the theatre company in the European project and to answer questions from participants.

In the afternoon, a pop-up workshop led by the artistic director Paul Davies was offered to visitors and featured some of the theatre’s Youth Company members. One of the current youth company and two former members had benefited from traineeships in Europe as part of Polart Circle project. Thus, they shared their experience and enriched the presentation of the project.

Examples of the MOOCs, created by the European partners of the project, were also disseminated and explained. Participants could discover the value of these MOOCs for large, small organisations and even for individuals wishing to learn more about Politics and the performing arts.

It was finally a day rich in reflections, theatrical workshops, performances and testimonials with free Volcano badges for visitors!
