On March 27, 2019, the Volcano Theatre participated in the “Spring Forward Festival What’s On” organized by the Take Art Association in the heart of Somerset County.

Attracting both professional and amateur dancers, members of artistic associations, as well as students and residents of Somerset, the festival was an opportunity for Volcano to present the Polart Circle project to a wide audience.

Claudine Conway and Victoria Boobyer, members of the theatre company, introduced visitors to the project. They presented the different aspects of Polart Circle, Volcano’s role in the creation of MOOCs on political theatre and the trips that the project participants made all over Europe.

After watching a short film about the project, the visitors were invited to participate in a theatre workshop inspired by the MOOCs and guided by the artistic director Paul Davies as well as members of the theatre youth company.

A project participant, Anna, also testified about her wonderful trip to Paris and the skills she developed throughout the project.

Finally, the public was invited to visit the exhibition EUROPE/VOLCANO/EUROPE, which documented the history of Volcano with Europe and the influence of Europe on Volcano’s work over the years.
