On 16 April 2018, a festive evening was organised at the Faust Bar, in the heart of Athens, by ODC Ensemble and Elli Papakonstantinou.

This evening was an opportunity to present the Polart Circle project, its partners, activities and results.

In the friendly atmosphere of the Faust Bar, the participants also had the chance to discover the publication “Theatre in times of crisis, Elli Papakonstantinou & ODC Ensemble”, recently published by Nefeli Editions.

This edited volume includes essays by theatre critics and researchers who have closely followed ODC Ensemble, outlining the company’s journey and evolution throughout the years of the Greek crisis. The collection includes photos documenting the Ensemble’s performances and testifying to its intricate relationship with the audience.

Discussions and reflections also took place on how ODC Ensemble highlights the relationship between theatre and the concept of crisis. And how it brings to light the explosive dynamics of theatre, its potential to challenge the status quo and regenerate a collective identity.

Following these discussions, the guests have enjoyed a unique concert with the songs and music from the performances mentioned. The evening finally ended on a high note with a jamming and DJ set.
